4 Adventurous Activities to Do in Luray, VA
Our favorite thing to do on vacation is something we haven't done before. Between rock climbing, kayaking, or surfing, we always try to find a way to push us out of our comfort zone a bit and try something new.
The good news is, if you're visiting Luray, there are so many opportunities to achieve this! The Shenandoah Valley is filled with a ton of different ways to get outside and enjoy the area. Here are a few of our favorites to help plan your next adventure and to get you inspired.
Tube or Kayak with Downriver Canoe Co.

If you have a large group or are bringing the family for some fun, tubing is a great option to get outside and do something different! It's a perfect lazy, silly and fun way to explore the river without worrying if someone is going to tip (they will) or if they lost a paddle. Plus it's a great way to stay cool on a hot day!
Kayaking through the rapids on the Shenandoah River is also a very adventurous and fun way to get outside and see the river as well! They're doable for beginners but still fun for experienced kayakers, too.
Zip Lining with Bear Mountain Zip Lines

Feeling a bit adventurous? Soar amongst the trees in this 50-acres zip lining course right at the base of Shenandoah National Park! Good for all ages, this is a fun activity to test yourself and see the view from a whole new angle! Plus they have a climbing wall and other activities as well!

Ready for a break from hiking but still want to see the views? Rent ATV's from Appalachian Adventure and explore the trails in a new way! Have a Fishing Day with Front Royal Outdoors

One of the biggest reasons to love this area is the amazing Shenandoah River, so it makes sense to try and spend as much time on it as possible!
