Why You Need to Visit New Market, VA

New Market is a hidden gem just off of Highway 81 and near Luray, Virginia. We didn’t know much about this cute, sleepy town, but now that we’ve had some time to explore, we want everyone to do the same!

New Market is perfect for a weekend getaway, it’s right off the highway making it easy to get to, and only about an hour and forty five minutes from DC. Along the route too you can stop at other cute towns, little wineries, and plenty of hikes, making it a perfect road trip destination!

But once you get to this adorable tiny town, here are a few of our recommended things you should do!

Explore Downtown New Market


Little Nest New Market is situated right in the heart of downtown, so you can walk to any of the amazing shops, restaurants and parks. All within a 5 minute walk, you can check out

New Market Community Park - Such a cute community park always filled with pups and people! They have picnic pavilions, a pool, tennis courts, and a nice walking path. Perfect for getting a pup some exercise.

Hiking in George Washington & Jefferson National Forest - Our favorite trails include Bird Knob and Storybook Trail (super easy!)
