Spring Travel Guide

Spring is an amazing time to visit Luray and Shenandoah National park! It’s a quick trip from so many major cities like DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. But once you’re there, it feels like a different world. One with rolling country sides, idyllic cows, and of course plenty of mountains on every horizon.

There are so many activities that are perfect for the whole family and no matter your interest. You can spend a morning fishing on the river, find amazing views at the end of a long hike, or simply stroll through town with a cup of coffee and window shop. The possibilities are endless!

Why Spring?

Spring is a perfect time to visit for a few reasons, the first being the weather. This area of the country typically starts to change seasons pretty quick, so you can get some pleasant days still early on in the year. Plus, with such a diverse wildlife and region, there’s so many different things blooming during this time!

Spring is also a good time due to business. October tends to be peak busy season in Luray and Shenandoah, and summer can get quite hot. Winter also tends to lead to Skyline Drive being closed and inclement weather, so spring is that perfect middle ground. It’s not too busy and is missing some of the summer heat. Spring is a perfect shoulder season to travel.
